I've often wondered about Multiple Personality Disorder (aka, Dissociative Identity Disorder) and have been told there really is no such thing, nor is there any evidence to suggest it. The only reason it ever came up was because someone tried to use it as a defense in a legal proceeding, there was research done to determine if it was "legitimate", there wasn't enough evidence, and it was thrown out. My question is, though, has there been more research done on this and has anything new come of it? Is there now evidence to support such a claim as having "multiple personality disorder/Dissociative Identity Disorder"? Thanks!
